There is another very interesting story that has just been posted at the DrugAbuseFocus.com site.
It is called “Teetering on the Edge

http://www.drugabusefocus.com/179/teetering-on-the-edge/

I beleive this post is extremely interesting because it is from a man who was about to kill himself because he felt himself to be worthless.  Drugs were no longer able to hide his feeling of worthlessness.  He had to do something – could he kill himself?

Please read the full story and please only post your comments, thoughts or stories there:

Perspective on Alcohol Abuse – Knew from the first second…..

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, alcohol rehab by drugabusefocus on January 3, 2009

in-the-bottle-alcoholic1I recently received and posted a new comment about alcohol abuse at the DrugAbuseFocus.com blog – where all drug and alcohol related stories should be posted.  Everyone has one or knows of one.

This alcohol addiction story is quite interesting:  http://www.drugabusefocus.com/161/

The man who wrote this who shall only be known as ‘Viking’  stated that he started drinking at the age of 12 years old.  The interesting part to me is that he knew the very first time he drank alcohol that he was an addict.

He also challenges everyone who has an addiction that ‘he knows they know they are addicted’.  There is no room for denial.  – A very interesting post.  Please only submit your comments at http://www.drugabusefocus.com/161/alcoholic-first-time/

Thank you,

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, drug abuse, drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 31, 2008

Well things are picking up at DrugAbuseFocus.com more people are adding their thoughts, comments and stories about drug and alcohol addiction / abuse.

Here are two new posts :

You Are the Last Person to Know You Are an Alcoholic! – This is an interesting perspective from Chris. It is short but to the point and it has generated a bit of interest in the form of comments from others.

Addiction and Self-Esteem or Self Worth – This one is a fascinating insight. Her belief is that addiction is really an expression of self doubt / self-esteem and not seeing the greatness in oneself.

New Drug And Alcohol Stories to Comment on….

Interview with Drug Dealer’s Ex-Girlfriend – Read this interview and learn how an ex-girlfriend views her former boyfriends devious ways and why she left him.  I think it is important for people to realize how drugs can destroy relationships as well as individuals themselves.  Also, consider how drug dealers really do harm the lives of others.  Leave your comments there!

Drunk Relative Defecates in a Bed at His Cousin’s House - Truly gross.  But this is an excellent example of the problems that alcohol abuse can cause. Consider in particular what this relative failed to do.  It’s as if he couldn’t even acknowledge that he did something wrong.   If you have a relative that drinks to excess all of the time, tell the story.  Leave your comments there.

As always, please submit your alcohol and drug abuse and addiction related stories for the purpose of helping others to understand the problem of addiction, to offer hope and to inspire and motivate!

Alcohol Leaves Real Scars

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, alcohol rehab by drugabusefocus on December 18, 2008

I put a post up called: Girl with the Scar...  Take a look at it and leave your comments.  Many people are suffering from drug and alcohol addictions – or even gambling addictions – one of the worst problems with addictions is that those addictions expand beyond the addict.

They typically steal from their family members or from friends.  The problem is that they cannot get away with it forever.  Once the family member or friend realized they have been lied to – it’s over and a bond of trust has been broken – most likely permanently.

I feel sad and that is why I want to do something about it.  That is why I created Drug Abuse Focus.  You can help too.  Here is how:

Click here to post your stories of drug and alcohol abuse

Things to post:

How did someone’s actions affect you?

Was money stolen from you?

Were you the addict?

When did you hit bottom?

Tell your story.

My Friend Vicki’s Sad Story

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction by drugabusefocus on December 16, 2008

I just finished writing about my friend Vicki, she died when we were a few months from graduating highschool.

Vicki’s life was cut short in a very sad way.  There was irony in the story – but there was nothing funny in it.

She was a good person.  We all miss Vicki.

You can read Vicki’s story here.

It’s been many years since then, but I’m still sad about the story.  I think you will completely understand why.

Everyone has a story about alcohol or drug abuse / use.

Please share your story to help or to warn others.
