There is another very interesting story that has just been posted at the DrugAbuseFocus.com site.
It is called “Teetering on the Edge

http://www.drugabusefocus.com/179/teetering-on-the-edge/

I beleive this post is extremely interesting because it is from a man who was about to kill himself because he felt himself to be worthless.  Drugs were no longer able to hide his feeling of worthlessness.  He had to do something – could he kill himself?

Please read the full story and please only post your comments, thoughts or stories there:

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, drug abuse, drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 31, 2008

Well things are picking up at DrugAbuseFocus.com more people are adding their thoughts, comments and stories about drug and alcohol addiction / abuse.

Here are two new posts :

You Are the Last Person to Know You Are an Alcoholic! – This is an interesting perspective from Chris. It is short but to the point and it has generated a bit of interest in the form of comments from others.

Addiction and Self-Esteem or Self Worth – This one is a fascinating insight. Her belief is that addiction is really an expression of self doubt / self-esteem and not seeing the greatness in oneself.

Terrorists and Drugs Again

Posted in drug abuse, drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 23, 2008

I just posted a story about a Taliban and his eagerness to sell drugs destined for the US so that he could harm Americans in two ways.  He could seem them addicted and he could use the money to feed his terrorist machine to attempt to kill more western people.

This is tragic.  I cannot imagine the feeling of knowing that drugs I bought were feeding the enemies of America and that money could come back to me or my neighborhood in the form of a bomb, missile or other terrorist act.

Drug Addiction – successfully breaking one

Posted in drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 2, 2008

Part of the purpose of my blog on drug abuse is to share stories, both good and bad, about drug abuse, addiction and what it means to be addicted and what it means to beat an addiction.

Therefore, here is a post on successfully  beating a drug addiction. As you can see it is almost always a struggle to beat and addiction, but it can be done.

Good and bad examples of drug addiction and what can happen are always welcome at the above blog. Post your anonymous stories about yourself or someone else – change names to protect people.  But post the story – it can help others.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Posted in alcohol addiction, drug addiction, drug rehab by drugabusefocus on November 25, 2008

I want to start out with a story of someone who ended up in a drug rehab center. His girlfriend was exceptionally beautiful when I first met them.  Several months later, she approached me as I was practicing the exercises of Falun Dafa in a local park.

When I opened my eyes to respond to her prescence I was shocked!  Her face was scarred.  She was still beautiful but the scars were noticeable too.

That’s when she told me about her boyfriend drinking and driving. He was an alocoholic who also used drugs.  They were in an accident.  He felt terribly bad about the scars on her beautiful face and motivated himself to go to rehab.

I never heard from or saw her again, save one very brief phone message.  I hope this story had a happy ending.
