There is another very interesting story that has just been posted at the DrugAbuseFocus.com site.
It is called “Teetering on the Edge

http://www.drugabusefocus.com/179/teetering-on-the-edge/

I beleive this post is extremely interesting because it is from a man who was about to kill himself because he felt himself to be worthless.  Drugs were no longer able to hide his feeling of worthlessness.  He had to do something – could he kill himself?

Please read the full story and please only post your comments, thoughts or stories there:

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, drug abuse, drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 31, 2008

Well things are picking up at DrugAbuseFocus.com more people are adding their thoughts, comments and stories about drug and alcohol addiction / abuse.

Here are two new posts :

You Are the Last Person to Know You Are an Alcoholic! – This is an interesting perspective from Chris. It is short but to the point and it has generated a bit of interest in the form of comments from others.

Addiction and Self-Esteem or Self Worth – This one is a fascinating insight. Her belief is that addiction is really an expression of self doubt / self-esteem and not seeing the greatness in oneself.

New Drug And Alcohol Stories to Comment on….

Posted in alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction, drug abuse, drug addiction, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 25, 2008

Interview with Drug Dealer’s Ex-Girlfriend – Read this interview and learn how an ex-girlfriend views her former boyfriends devious ways and why she left him.  I think it is important for people to realize how drugs can destroy relationships as well as individuals themselves.  Also, consider how drug dealers really do harm the lives of others.  Leave your comments there!

Drunk Relative Defecates in a Bed at His Cousin’s House - Truly gross.  But this is an excellent example of the problems that alcohol abuse can cause. Consider in particular what this relative failed to do.  It’s as if he couldn’t even acknowledge that he did something wrong.   If you have a relative that drinks to excess all of the time, tell the story.  Leave your comments there.

As always, please submit your alcohol and drug abuse and addiction related stories for the purpose of helping others to understand the problem of addiction, to offer hope and to inspire and motivate!

Terrorists and Drugs Again

Posted in drug abuse, drug addiction, drug rehab, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 23, 2008

I just posted a story about a Taliban and his eagerness to sell drugs destined for the US so that he could harm Americans in two ways.  He could seem them addicted and he could use the money to feed his terrorist machine to attempt to kill more western people.

This is tragic.  I cannot imagine the feeling of knowing that drugs I bought were feeding the enemies of America and that money could come back to me or my neighborhood in the form of a bomb, missile or other terrorist act.

Crazy Drug User – A Sad Tale

Posted in drug abuse, drug addiction, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 13, 2008

It’s been a few years since the story of the crazy drug userhappened.  However, I thought I should tell the story because it is very sad in retrospect.  To see people throw their lives away due to a drug addiction issue is a shame. How many times does this happen each day?

I understand that breaking an addiction is tough.  But there are success stories out there.  I hope that anyone finding this blog will share their stories over at : http://drugabusefocus.com .  I think it is vitally important to share because this can provide inspiration and hope to others.

Anyway: here is the story about the crazy drug user that visited a coffee shop I once frequented:

Everyone most definitely has story to tell – regardless of whether it is about someone else or yourself, the story has value.  Names should be changed to protect identities – we only want the demonstrative effect of the story – we don’t want to harm anyone.   If you wish to share your story, click the big red button to the upper right.  Won’t you add your story for the potential benefit of others?   It could be your good deed for the day!

Terrorism and Drug Addiction

Posted in alcohol rehab, drug addiction, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 9, 2008

Do you think it could be true that Drug addicts  inadvertently feed terror networks?  It is truly a scary thought and I’m afraid there may very well be some truth to it.  Drug trafficking is one of the many ways that terror networks finance themselves.

The drug market is huge; it is very big.  It is world wide and you have no idea where your dope comes from.  Who has handled it.  Who has cut it with what – oh, that is another topic, isn’t it.

Here is a scary scenario I thought up:  What if terrorists were to strike an attack on your home town, killing people you love and the attack was in part funded by the very money you spent on dope?   Talk about a total mind ****.

Part of the purpose of my blog on drug abuse is to share stories, both good and bad, about drug abuse, addiction and what it means to be addicted and what it means to beat an addiction.

Therefore, here is a post on successfully  beating a drug addiction. As you can see it is almost always a struggle to beat and addiction, but it can be done.

Good and bad examples of drug addiction and what can happen are always welcome at the above blog. Post your anonymous stories about yourself or someone else – change names to protect people.  But post the story – it can help others.

Drug Addicted: Can Meditation Help Fight Addiction?

Posted in drug addiction, drug use by drugabusefocus on December 2, 2008

I posted a blog about my formerly drug addicted friend who utilized a powerful form of meditation practice to defeat his alcohol and drug depenedence.  The cool thing about his story is that in his line of work it is very difficult for him to avoid other drug addicted personalities.

Therefore, the power of his story is a good one.  If he can thrive in an environment where there are plenty of drug users, you can bet that he has his act together now.  But at one time….

There is hope.  Addictions can be overcome and life can become better again!
